The most frequent request for information asked of me comes from people who want to know if anyone knew a relative of theirs who served in World War II. They also want to know if I have any information about them.
I almost always recommend they begin their search by going to the U.S. National Archives' web site here and request a copy of that veteran's service record. If you are one of the veteran's blood relatives, you have a good chance that you can get a copy of his or her service record.
